We chose to have their session in the morning and I am so glad that we did. There is something about the light at Shades in the am that is so soft and golden which makes photos a dream! I’ve known Whitney for a very long time (we grew up as next door neighbors) but I was very excited to meet Deric and get a chance to know them as a couple before their wedding this fall. Their session was the perfect setting to do just that and was honestly so much fun! Despite it being a bit warm and us swatting all the gnats away, it was a joy getting to photograph them as well as chat about their wedding plans. On top of planning a wedding, Whitney and Deric are right in the middle of selling their home and moving to a place that will better fit them and their 3 large dogs (one golden and two German Shepards) so there is a lot going on in their lives at the moment. Not to mention that Whitney is a high school teacher (school just stated) and Deric has been working a new job as a cop. The two met while at work and quickly were attracted to each other’s smiles and willingness to work with and serve others. They are two special individuals and I can not wait to photograph their wedding soon!
