Evan + Riley had been planning their wedding for well over a year. Little did they know that when the process began, it would turn out completely different than what they had imagined and worked toward for so many months. They, like many of my other clients, had to completely shift their wedding plans when the virus hit. Weddings had to be postponed and even canceled. People couldn’t meet together. Everyone had to work from home. It was and still is a crazy unprecedented time.
Despite all of the unknown and chaos, Evan + Riley decided to have a small intimate ceremony with less than 10 people in attendance and with no physical contact with anyone else. Getting married even under different circumstances was still a huge priority for them and I am so thankful I got to take part in it. A super simple yet totally beautiful intimate wedding ceremony was what ultimately occurred. I personally think it perfectly depicts this time in our history through the eyes of wedding. And on an incredibly special note, unknown to everyone except Riley’s mom, several of the bridal party members (some traveling from states away), surprised the couple right outside of their church. They were in total shock and felt loved by so many in what was a very stressful and difficult time.
Their wedding didn’t turn out how they originally pictured it but it was deeply special nonetheless. They will be celebrating with all their friends and family in August (God-willing) when things start to go back to a new normal. I look forward to celebrating with them again soon! For now, enjoy this peak into their intimate wedding ceremony.
