When Kelsea first told me she was planning a winter wedding I wasn’t sure what to think or feel for that matter. I had never photographed one and I kept thinking to myself, “aren’t weddings supposed to be during warm weather months?” Well Cory and Kelsea’s winter wedding was nothing short of special. Though it may not have occurred during the typical wedding season, it was better for it!
We arrived at the wedding and were immediately greeted by the family. I’ve known Kelsea and her sister Taylor since I was in elementary school so we knew that we would know many of the family members and guests. It is such a sweet thing to photograph people you know and it never gets old!
The wedding ceremony was at the Zionsville United Methodist Church in Zionsville, Indiana which is a beautiful church with gorgeous windows. Best of all, there was a giant Christmas tree in the middle of their foyer. All the decorations were handmade including the silk flower bouquets made by Kelsea’s grandma. The elegantly gold, silver, and wine colors accented with green and twinkling lights was the perfect set up for Cory and Kelsea’s wedding.
After the ceremony we headed over to The Cardinal Room for the reception where there was a ton of dancing, several heartfelt and comical toasts and even a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Clause. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to photograph their winter wedding and I wish all the blessings on their marriage going into the future.
