When a couple is so in love that they are ready to move forward in their relationship, they decide to take the next step by planning to get married. Not only do they work towards planning a big event, they plan to commit their lives to one another.
A wedding is special in more ways than one. It is special because it embarks a couple on a journey together that will last for years and years to come but also because their family and friends come together to celebrate that love and relationship which is glorifying to God. He knew that it wasn’t good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18) and in doing so he created us to be together. Isn’t that incredible?
Weddings are filled with joy, they overflow with love, and best of all are incredible events to be a part of. As someone who loves to photograph these events, I feel lucky. I feel lucky to be a part of that momentous step in a couple’s life. I feel lucky to be the person in charge of documenting that crucial start for them on their journey as husband and wife. For many, their wedding photos become symbolic of their relationship that is shared with generations to come. It’s never about me but about the couple coming together as one.
