3 Tips For Printing Your Own Photos

January 22, 2018

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I am not the best at printing my work, and even more so, my personal images. I’ve been making an effort lately to change that, and I encourage my friends and family to do the same!

Here are three tips I have been using to print my own photos:

  1. The earlier you do it, the more likely it will happen. Don’t be like me and wait a whole year before you get your vacation photos printed or put in a book. The further away you are from the experience, the less likely you are to take the time to get it done!
  2. Find a store that you like and stick with it. That way you aren’t spending a lot of time trying to decide where to buy prints/books and instead get right to making it happen. I personally love using Artifact Uprising. It is a bit pricy, but their attention to detail and product quality are worth the extra buck. I have used the company for years, and it continues to improve its uploading and editing software, which I love! Plus, it has a ton of different options to choose from as far as how you print your photos. My personal favorite is the softcover 11-inch-by-8-inch book that I have used for our past three vacations!
  3. Make sure you get the photos off of your computer AND phone! The latest book that I created from our vacation to Nashville used photos I took from both. The image quality might vary, but it’s all about cherishing the moments and not being caught up in how the photos look. During one of my favorite parts on that trip, I didn’t even have my camera so I had to rely on iPhone photos to memorialize that time. It may add a few extra steps to get the images off your phone, but in the end, you will be happy you got them printed!
